1. In plain English

What user data is required and when

BikeGremlin website requires users to enter username and e-mail if they want to post comments.


What is the user data used for

User data is only used for the moderation of comments and data that users put on the site. Access rights to put it shortly.

From “ordinary users” that can post comments and questions, “authors” that add posts, to “administrators” who make sure it all works. In case of bad behaviour (spamming, insults etc.), an account can be blocked (etiquette and the rules are explained on this link: Posting questions, or comments).

There is no other use of the user data. It is not given to any other company or individual.

An exception is subscribing to our Newsletter, where the given emails and names are used to create a mailing list (for sending news, info and marketing offers).

You can unsubscribe from both the website and the newsletter list at any time when all your data is removed – except the comments you have already posted.


Data protection

User data visible (only) when posting a comment, or a post, are user name and website (if that data is provided by the user). E-mail is kept private (hidden), protected from alteration, or copying.

The site uses SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS protocol). That is why user data can’t be intercepted while being sent from the user’s computer to the website’s server.


Google ads

Google uses cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and/or other websites. This enables showing links from this site, other sites and some ads at the bottom of each page, under the heading: “Google chosen content“. Consent

By submitting a comment on the Bike Gremlin website, one consents to the comment being publicly visible, without the right to delete and/or alter it (except with the website administrator’s approval). Given information remains the property of the Bike Gremlin website. Administrators are keeping the right to edit and/or delete comments if they see that as appropriate. You can post a comment anonymously – enter any “name” you like, while your email is never shown publicly.

2.1. Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)
